more kimono-inspired patterns

So happy you liked my selection of kimono patterns. To confirm the trend is going strong indeed, a couple of days after publishing, I found more new patterns. The latest Vogue Knitting issue features a lovely kimono inspired cardigan (among other gorgeous patterns – I need that issue) and this other lovely sweater, Gingko, can be bought as a kit with the yarn from the Laine des Iles webstore. This is a relatively new online yarn store, based in Brittany, that features beautiful yarns from the UK and the Atlantic Islands. I’ve ordered a couple of books from this store and received  the books lovingly wrapped like a present.

  1. OMG, Gingko is totally gorgeous! I looked for the pattern on ravelry but didn’t see it so will try the webstore you recommended. Looks like it is knitted in a silk blend, no?

    • Isn’t it? Check the back also, the pics are on the website, it is so feminine, you’re going to love it. I think the yarn used is a silk blend, yes. It is a brand new pattern, so it might not be out on Ravelry yet. I can’t remember if it exclusive to the website or not. Anyway, glad you like it.

  2. I have to agree with the commenter above – the Gingko is just beautiful: lovely drape, simple but flattering neckline, and the garter-stitch border is a sweet touch. You have such a splendid eye for beautiful knits!
